![]() The game usually feels too easy, but I’ve occasionally been stumped by it. Your first guess might feel something verging on excitingly risky, as you pick four words from a pool of 16, but by the time you’re picking four from a pool of 12, or eight, the air has been let out of the exercise. ![]() You get four wrong guesses before you lose, but you just don’t feel like you’re getting down to the wire the same way you do when playing Wordle. You do a lot of the figuring out, such as it is, before you make the first guess, and the fun kind of deflates thereafter. ![]() Speaking of that: By the time you get to the last round and only have four options left, why does the game bother having you group and submit them? There’s an unsatisfying lack of progression to the whole thing. Or you can not figure out the rest and still win the game, simply because you’ve got four words left and they have to go together. You may not know all four categories, but if you get one, you can figure out the rest via process of elimination. So aside from the hiccup of accusations of copycatting and an overly literal name that sounds more like a generic social network than a game, what’s not to love about Connections? Well, once you figure out that there’s usually a trick word or two hiding in the grid, there’s not much strategy to the game. In Connections, each correct group of words is transformed into a solid-colored bar, so that when you win, your handiwork is laid out in front of you in the form of four rainbow stripes: If this is starting to sound familiar, it might be because there’s a BBC game called Only Connect that operates very similarly, as some outlets groused upon Connections’ unveiling. The challenge comes when you don’t see any patterns right away, which sometimes happens, or you spot a word that might fit in multiple categories-for example, a board recently included the word “rock,” and the player might have initially thought it fit into the same category as “blues” and “country,” which were also on the grid, until they noticed that “paper,” “scissors,” and “shoot” were on the grid that day, too. The player is told to find groups of four words that fit together-you’re supposed to select the four words in front of you that have a commonality, like that they’re all names for pasta shapes, or cuts of beef. So I’m as surprised as anyone to be registering the following complaint about Connections, the New York Times’ newest game: It’s too easy.Ĭonnections, which debuted last month, presents players with a four-by-four grid of gray rectangles, each enclosing a different word. ![]() I got so upset the first time I lost Wordle that I wrote a whole piece about it. Who is eligible to be a notary in Singapore? In Singapore, Notaries Public are governed by the Notary Public Act. Most countries have Notaries Public, and their powers depend on the local applicable law. By signing a declaration before a Notary Public, the person confirms that the facts in the document are true and correct. Notarising a document is similar to swearing under oath in a court of law. In simple terms, a Notary Public is regarded as a credible witness that a document was attested correctly, or that it is a true copy of the original. Sometimes these entities are not familiar with the form of such documents used in Singapore, or they have no way of verifying that the documents were properly executed. A foreign employer or educational institution may, for example, request birth or marriage certificates, deeds or contracts, that are used or executed in Singapore. Notarising is often required when foreigners, overseas businesses or entities request documents issued in Singapore. A Notary Public is a person appointed to notarise documents, usually by witnessing, authenticating and certifying the execution of the documents to be used in foreign countries. ![]() ![]() The chicken was dry as the Sahara so I would advise my fellow diners to avoid this selection as you would rattlesnakes and earthquakes! I was served bacon wrapped chicken even though I didn’t order it. Apparently the meat is sliced before grilling which makes cooking to order hit or miss. Most of the meats were good but most cooked far more than the medium-rare I requested. Ordering an additional portion of a favorite thus became problematic. This process may be repeated as the “feast” option is all-you-can-eat for just south of $60. About 20 minutes later, a plate arrives with the selections arranged on a bed of salad greens. Are these constructs attempts at creating something similar to the Knight? Do they have void in them, or are their masters affiliated with void somehow? There's at least some connection to void here, even if it's just her masters being affiliated with it. There's an obvious attempt at connecting Jinn to void here honestly, seeing how the void heart is what triggers this realization in Jinn. She goes back on her statement about the Knight being built inferior, before realizing that the Knight is different to Jinn in that he's "more complete." ".different like masters." Has not seen many, so vulnerable, but triumphant. But easily her most interesting piece of dialogue is when you come to her with the void heart. Jinn has masters? And supposedly they seek out disorder… Other than that, despite “too young” to know anything, she's aware of the king and the king's brand, and knows not to follow it? It's strange. Keyword "built." Though, you could chalk that up to being Jinn's strange English, but if you come back to him with the King's Brand, he says this: ![]() So, when you meet Jinn, he speaks a lot about trading, but occasionally he'll comment on the Knight himself, referring to him as "soft" and small. Let's talk about Jinn and the void constructs for a bit. Of course, there's more to this theory than just that. ![]() While on the topic, it's also worth noting the White Lady states it has a rare power, giving more evidence that its importance hasn't been fulfilled. Seeing how they went out of their way to bring attention to that flower in the ending that foreshadows Silksong, and how Silksong isn't taking place in Hollownest, I think it makes sense we'll get to see it's connection to void at some point on Hornet's journey through the new kingdom. The Delicate Flower is what especially draws my attention here, as the White Lady states it's not from Hollownest. This only becomes more interesting when you give the delicate flower to the Godseeker, where the ending cutscene seems to hint at that flower's importance, having some sort of protection against void. How powerful is the Shade Lord if it's "the god of gods", the very thing the godseekers have been seeking? This also brings up the question what IS void? We see it trying to break free from the Godseeker somehow, even leaking void from her eyes like we've seen on many bugs across the game. There's talk of a lost civilization throughout the game, one that "didn't worship a god, but the darkness itself." Was that referring to the Shade Lord, or not? We see the Godseeker finally meeting the Lord of Shades, or the "God of Gods", or "Void Given Focus." It's obviously an important being, but why? This character is honestly one of the most secretive things in the game. Part of the reason I think this is, well, the ending for Hollow Knight. So, obvious reasons are probably the fact that Hollow Knight has a lot of mysteries that have yet to be solved, but in my opinion, everything having to do with void has the MOST buildup of anything so far, and I think there's a chance that's all going to carry over into Silksong somehow. (At least from what I know!) But I think the game will likely delve more into the lore of void. So, we don't know too much about what lore Silksong will have of course, where the end game will end up going, what directions it might take. But I still have thoughts I'd love to share anyway! Just some thoughts I wanted to put here! Worth noting though, I’ve been avoiding any and all Silksong content aside from the first trailer so I can go into it as blind as I did Hollow Knight. r/demonssouls /r/darksouls /r/darksouls2 /r/darksouls3 /r/bloodborne /r/saltandsanctuary /r/castlevania /r/metroid Ultra-high-resolution Interactive Hallownest Map at with downloads and making-of videos. These sites have cool Hollow Knight content! Or you want to support Michael Bisping, Olivia Popica, Tommy Bastow, and the rest of the cast in the movie who did spend a lot of time making this movie. But if you’ve watched the Never Back Down series, you might want to see it through for some odd reason. Is it horrendous and not worth a watch? Maybe. But all in all, the movie is severely lacking. There are some spots that are pretty cool, and Michael Bisping does well in the movie. From the shallow story set up, to the lull in the middle, and the anti-climatic ending, watching the latest installment of the series seems like a drag. To be honest, watching Never Back Down: Revolt was a chore. There is a final showdown and it’s over before you know it. The directors attempted to make it seem Anya was the mastermind but it didn’t come off that way at all.įinally there’s the “boss fight” where Anya takes on the head honcho lady, Mariah. But when Anya shows up, they all decide to break out then. They were all held captive to be forced to fight. ![]() But one could argue that they can’t fix matches at that high of a level so I won’t harp on that too much.Īnother of my issues in the movie was with the girls. Why are these rich people betting on regional MMA? A Conor McGregor fight seems more the rich’s speed. The story was a bit weird for me as well. That is what the movie is about, after all. It made the movie drag on and make me wonder when the next fight scene is going to be. But in the middle of the movie, there was a lull and very little action. The real problem is that the movie was a movie based on fighting. But it did rely on pro wrestling camera techniques in the fighting and that was off-putting to me. While the choreography wasn’t the best, it passed the eye test from a casual standpoint. Never Back Down: Revolt was a bit of a drag. The cage and ring are all too common and this was unique. While it may not have been intentional, it is cool to see some new fighting arenas in movies. While we saw the familiar cage in the beginning, this was a nod to the lei tai to an ancient fighting stage in China. It’s a mansion and a raised platform the women fight on. Bisping’s henchman attitude, how he walked, how he talked, was pure bad guy, which is awesome to see from the former champion. While his lines were a bit stale at times (“I to hit girls”), one could blame that on the writing of the movie, much like Hayden Christensen in the Star Wars prequel series. The former UFC champ was larger than life every time he was on screen. One good thing about the movie is Michael Bisping. The story is laborious and there isn’t much action. In all honesty, Never Back Down: Revolt is not the best movie in the series. Okay, then… The Good of Never Back Down: Revolt That said, they did it and made money that way. It seems that high stakes is more of what a gambler is after and low level MMA leaves a lot to be desired. As a matter of fact, why rich people betting on low level, regional MMA is beyond me. Our main characters, Anya and Aslan, refuse to throw a match because of reasons. The movie’s plot revolves around a rich couple that likes to bet on fights and even pay to have matches thrown. ![]() Choreographer, Tim Man, did work on the movie but you could tell Bisping’s influence on some of the action sequences, especially the ones he is in. Bisping was a target for the film makers early on. The MMA readers will know Michael Bisping who is the former UFC middleweight champion. Chechnya and Dagestan are two Russian regions that produce top tier talent in the combat sports world. The main characters are Chechen, which is a nice touch.
